Andrew - just a question - you have published your copyright clause - when did you get permission from us as owner to include our  vessel content ?  yet you have placed information about our property under YOUR copyright .  mmmmmm  Confused  Looking through your accreditation you are showing as a registered business. Please remove our vessel from your content .

Many thanks
Maggie

Hi Mercator,

I'm happy to remove your boat, but I would need you to provide me the registration details as I don't store previous communications, purely to assist with not holding personal data.

As you are aware the details of your vessel are publicly available, however we review data and therefore it is our modifications that fall under our copyright.

Having previously had a website copied including technical hardware images, I like to be in a position where I can legally request data that has been copied to be removed if warranted especially with all the effort that goes into the website.

As in my previous post the website does use a registered company within the website framework due to the requirements of complying with the Information Commissioner rather than providing a website outside compliance.

We look forward to seeing you on the river!

Regards,

Andrew

I have replied to the PM asking for my data to be removed from the database. In the interests of fairness, I will try to get it removed from the other databases as well.
I am also going to ask the Broads Authority to stop publishing this information.
I wouldn't be so bad if it was at all accurate but an inaccurate database is really useless.

It's not clear to me what legislation people are leaning on to demand removal of information?  Or why people think the information presented  constitutes personal information?  Or what material damage anyone thinks that the repeat publication of erroneous information which is from publically owned datasets is likely to cause.  The world has been asking for data held by government to be freely available for years.  Here it is being put to use.

Or have I missed the point?
