You should remember the gas bottles belong to Calor and there has been a real shortage of that particular type of bottle!!

If Calor and the other companies made the return of surplus bottles easier I am sure they would get a lot  more back Advertising a amnesty with free collection would help as the sites they offer to take them back are few and far between!

I paid for this bottle of gas and I have a right to sell it, don't you think.

All banknotes belong to the Bank of England - doesn't stop us exchanging them between ourselves. Same applies to gas bottles, I'd think. Could be wrong, usually am.  Wink

Whatever happens now, I'm blaming it on Brexit. Everyone else is!

From memory they charge you a decent deposit, do you get this back if you return the empty bottle?

But you have to take them in, and the guy I dealt with (Norwich) didn't appear to be aware of the scheme and was quite offish ! I did get it credited against the purchase of a 3.9kg Propane for winter.
Also they checked my address was genuine and haven't just picked one up off the roadside ?

Gas bottles have always been difficult to return little wonder many were illegally scrapped a few years ago I realise simply giving money to people for bottles would lead to certain members of the community just picking them up and getting the money for them but there must be a easy way to get some back in circulation
