K and M,
I did not mention anyone in particular and saw your post acknowledging the reasons for the pricing. So I am a bit mystified why you think it is aimed at you.
My apologies if you saw it that way.

I stand by the gist of my post though that investment needs reasonable return.

How about a picture of said boats so we have an idea of what it's all about?

Thank you Paladine and Coriolis for providing those links to photos.

I'll attempt to attach some too!

I'm sorry I'm not really in a position to offer discounts at the moment. Incidently, we do also have a dayboat for hire at £15 per hour.

For the dayboat, isn't the minimum 3 hours hire?

Twas just an off the cuff suggestion JoMarriot, to help maybe kickstart things for you...

If anyone here hires, please let us know what you thought. I shall look out for users and to see the boat in the flesh. It certainly looks relaxing if only minimal effort required...  Wink

Can one sit back whilst the other pedals?

Karen (Hi, long time no see)

Minimal effort would be a good description...the designer and I managed the 52 miles from Wroxham to Norwich in under 10 hours, including stops almost 20 years ago, when he was in his 60s and I mid 40's.... a very pleasant and relaxing way to see the place at close quarters, with no engine rattle or strings to fiddle with...and very sociable too; you can easily top up your partner's wine glass by simply leaning forward...

I've crossed Barton in a stiff headwind on my own in about 15-20 minutes but to be honest you really need both crew participating to even out the power stokes, otherwise it's rather like disconnecting two sparking plugs from a 4 cylinder engine....do-able for a short while but not ideal.

That said, the older, slightly less sophisticated version would give an easy 5-6 mph (GPS) with around 30 rpm on the pedals.....not quite enough to stop conversation...effort level about the same as walking to the bus stop.

The design truly deserves comercial success...I'm not involved other than a once-upon-a-time stoker who had a ball  LOL

Smile
