Having clicked a link to a thread, the colour changes. I use this as a guide to whether I have taken some interest in a thread. By using the link "last 24 hours" etc. one can determine the activity of a thread. As that thread builds, the page count within the thread listing goes up. This page count also is also colour sensitive. So again I use this to determine if a thread is unread by me. Active thread always bubble to the top of the "last 24 hours" page. So I use this to guide me to active threads, and those less active or ones that have not received any updates will drop of the "24 hours" list. This naturally limits the number of threads I need to continue to read.
