Excuse me using this forum for daft questions but...

Is it possible to use an Apple iPod in conjunction with a PC which isn't running Windows 2000 or Windows XP? I know Apple say these are the only PC software platforms compatible but I rarely believe large corporations and there must be load of people like me out there still using outdated operating systems like Windows 98 SE.
