Hi there, and well dome with your project!

I couldn't comment on your blog as I don't have the right account, but in answer to your question about how to fill in the Broom logo, try this:

Place a peice of card over the logo and tape in place. Rub over the card and logo with a wax crayon or similar, just like a brass rubbing. Remove the card and cut out the lettering with a craft knife. Place the card back over the name so the moulded lettering sticks snuggly through the card. By using a foam mini roller and a marine paint you should get an acceptably glossy and nice even finish. Allow to dry and remove card. Job done.

Happy sailing! Rob

Thanks for the encouragement! It's taken some effort but as this boat is going to be a 'keeper' I think it's been worth it.

Aaaah the logos - that's quite a neat idea I may experiment with that, thanks Cheers (bet they'll be different each side though...

Cheers,

Robin

Hi everyone. This is probably a strange post.
In my garden, on a trailer, is one of the first boats that John Broom built. The model is a Dainty Miss, she was one of about 8 boats and it is left hand drive. She was apparently built for the Vicar of Wroxham. She was restored about 20 years ago and I took it to Brittany for a holiday where she performed well in the sea, planing really nicely. Since then she has languished firstly in grain store (where the boat dried out and the keel started to move away from the Hull) and more recently in my garden. She has a Johnson outboard and a fuel tank.
She deserves to go to a good home now and if someone can convince me that she will be restored and cherished then they can pick her up and take her away.  Any takers, please e-mail.
Regards, Nick.
