Greetings to everybody! This is my first post here and although not a native of the Broads, I've found this forum very interesting.

I'm currently restoring a much neglected Broom Saturn (there's an online diary here:http://broomspeedboat.blogspot.com)

I've always liked these boats and although there are always a few for sale I have very little knowledge of them or the manufacturer past what I can dig up from the net. I'd be really grateful for any information/photo's/what have you that any members may have. The plan is that one day she'll return to her 'home waters' - just have a little bit more work to do yet... Smile

All the best,
BroomBroom

Great Restoration Project, as you say there's just none about anymore Frown

I had a Broom Speed boat when i was a Teenager it was made of Marine Ply, I had a mate take some pics of it doing bad things Wink  just wish i could find those ole pics.

I had a 40 HP Johnson on the back.
Beautiful boat, found memories of it.
When i owned it, it must had been 10+ Years old and that was in The Mid 80s.

I notice them a lot on the broads. we were thinking of having one a couple of years back but they all seem to be a bit over priced. we went for something a bit bigger (now sold). there was one for sale in potter a few weeks back.

Thanks all! Yup, it's a nice project and I'll keep the blog updated so people can see how it's going. Weather here in Sussex has been lousy recently - sun's out as I write but unfortunately I've got a load of deskbound work on so the lure of fibreglass and resin will have to wait for a bit Frown

Special thanks to the people who have PM'd me with info - appreciated. Unfortunately, the Broom website seems to have died - I assume the business no longer exists (or I'd be onto them for a windscreen)!

Cheers to all,
BroomBroom

Hi
Welcome to the forum and good luck with your restoration.

Robinw's information is sadly no longer valid as John Broom has sold up.

This old thread explains a bit more. Link
