Her quote was "we're getting a new bl***y car before you get another bl***y boat, what's wrong with the one you've got?", "boat or car?" i replied, good job i'm on nights this week..... I can see where she is coming from though, the car is 18 years old, only one of the windows works and it only has half of an exhaust, maybe later this year i'll get another one... Chris J

quote:"...... only one of the windows works and it only has half of an exhaust ......." Chris, What luxuries. What does Mrs G_Mist require in a car? Has it got at least 3 wheels and another one to steer the vehicle with? (fit a rudder to the back end if no steery wheel!!) Anyway, why do windows have to "work"? Windows are for looking out of, not working.

I have found that working windows are a help when the half of an exhaust pipe leaks it fumes through the holes in the floor, mind you it makes the Acle straight more interesting Chris J

Chris, You just answered your own problem, just havent realised it.
quote:"...... working windows are a help when the half of an exhaust pipe leaks it fumes through the holes in the floor ......." All that is required is the exhaust to be chopped as near the engine as possible. Remove and refit the gearbox "backwards" so you have a few more choices of gear when travelling in the now "forward" position. All fumes will be "behind" the car, so why the need for "working" windows

Mmmm, that could be a cheaper fix than getting a new exhaust, all i'd have to do i superglue my door mirror back on and it could be done, now where did i put my junior hacksaw and socket set?..... Chris J
