Hi all, I’m very interested to hear and see any info on the Cresta fleet from Martham ferry boat. How many boats? How many types and sizes? How many in that category type and size? Years built? And any still around? Any one that has one?
My family were very involved with CLiff and Bernard (The designers and builders) My father ran an Easter Boys cruise and hired all their yachts for many years and ended up buying one that had been built privately and kept at Sandwich in Kent which we moved to Norfolk. Tbeir fleet was as follows: 2 berth - Crestette and Crestina 3 berth - Cresta and Crestel 4/5berth - Crestonia and Crestella and at least two others that I can't remember the names of. They were the wooden ones. They then built or bought in some plastic ones. I think there were about four private ones of which two are still around, Richeldis which is kept near the boatyard and is owned by the son of Bernard. Our one, originally called Nefertiti and OLE when we owned it is as far as I know at Lowestoft. There is one moored near Horning that has has a bowsprit fitted. Does that help?? regards

Very good to know. I would like to see another one. We have CrestaDonna one of the three 36ft ones from the early 40s. Do you know what the other two big ones were called?
I have just remembered the name of the other 32ft 5 berth It was Cresta Maria. Cresta Donna was the last one they made, I think in the 1970's. If you are thinking it was made in the 1940's then I think that is due to the confusion with the subsequent name.Cresta Donna was purchased by Woods and renamed Perfect Lady of which there were several with that name built in the late 40's. Where do you keep Cresta Donna. I would love to see her again. We are based at Womack. One of the other private ones was called Golden Vanity. Regards Simon

Very interesting and yes that right my dad got her from Herbert woods about 2002-2003ish and she is still currently named Perfect Lady. She was in a poor state but was rescued and restored.Think the book says 36ft and 8ft beam. She’s at stalham. Soon coming out for a check and a makeover.
sorry to disagree but that type of design was not around in the forties. I can remember her being built and launched in the 70's. Laura craft (Cresta yachts) were not around in the forties. The older cresta boats were all built from the 60's onwards. Regds
