Hi all..We have been thinking of buying our own boat for a while now, but we're guessing nothing can be done at the moment, so we are just looking.
Anyway, does anyone know if Relcraft 29 are decent boats ?, as never heard of them before.. We have found one on NYA website and it seems alot of boat for the money..Any knowledge or advice would be grateful..

That is indeed a lot of boat for the money. I've always liked the Relcraft hulls, though I think most were driven on a leg. To find a diesel on a shaft, I think is quite rare and better suited to Broads use. Looking at the spec and pictures of the one at NYA, I would say it's a nice boat and certainly worth a look when you are able.  Smile

Edited to add: I just found this on Jones' Boatyard archive.

A friend of mine had a Relcraft 29 until quite recently, based at Sawley marina on the River Trent.

Nice boats, a little bit longer than most of the others in that range, the Normans, Freemans and Elysians etc but most of that extra length seemed to be in the cockpit, inside was a touch cramped though that would not bother me as rain or shine I would inhabit the cockpit anyway. The spec on that one looks better than his, though his had a three cylinder Nanni engine and recent new canopy which was not cheap. For diesel on shaft, pump out loo, shore power there is not much around for under 10k on the broads and that looks really good. My friend sold his last March at 12.5k and I think it now lives on the River Ouse.

Lovely big bench seat / sofa in the rear of the cockpit, made the boat for me. Just check on the condition of the canopy.

Hi, just to advise you that the Relcraft on NYA website was listed as under offer about 2/3 weeks ago. Maybe an idea to ask them why the sale fell through. Could just be due to lockdown.
