Hi just an update on my boat. It spears that it is what it said in the boat licence document , Broom Sancerre 30 . There were two that were bought and finished off by Ray Bondon Daniel at marinetech gave me that info, and suggested I got in touch with Tom dickenson of broom for a new sunroof , as they were done at broom. After speaking to Tom about the time these were built in the middle of the recession it could have been any reason for the two boats to be sold . The outcome is that they can supply a new sunroof for her and once I give him the HIN number he will check all the broom and aquafibre records , from that he can tell who the boat went to and what stage of build it was in, so I should be able to get the HIN over the weekend and hope to get the rest of the story . Mine has spent most of its time on the Thames and south coast it would be nice to hear from the owner of the other one. Many thanks to all the help and pointers it has made the first half of my research very quick and easy and I will updating when and what info I get. Best regards. Andy
Hi Steve I think you are right. I have been in touch with marine tech and broom , and just have a little more research and then will be able to confirm my outcome mostly through the posts on this forum . I have an email from broom confirming a factory works plate in a photo I sent secondly marine tech confirmed it was one of two finished at Sancerre. As it was built over the resession. In the early 80s it is not quite clear what state of build it was at broom. When it was sold it is only a guess that it went to Sancerre to be engined and finished off. Other suggestions about it been a the dash board says sancerre cruisers. Although it is a broom dashboard my hin number will apparently find everything out but whilst the wheather the COVID have bean hammering us this year I still have not found it however a couple of days ago Iwa’s feeling over the blue stripe on the stearn and found something under the paint about 1” long and 1/4” deep just raised above the gel coat. So maybe this is the number on the starboard side of the boat were it should be. A long journey , but hopefully I will get this looked a has I have a survey due in this month so will clean off the paint while in dry dock
The broads must be the hardest place to research boats in the world with so many well known boat builders an companies involved in boat building . And generally handed down though the families
