I have recently purchased a broads cruiser called 'Salamander' and will be having work done in preparation to taking her to South Australia (in a 40ft container not sailing). She is a very interesting little boat and I am keen to find more information about her history etc. I understand that she was called 'Water Rat' before a name change in the 1920's. Any information - previous owners, photographs etc. would be greatly appreciated. For those interested in her restoration and relocation to Goolwa in South Australia there is a facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/salamanderrivercruiser?ref=hl

Cheers, Mark

She will indeed be a head turner when you sort her out.
Did I see her at Ludham Bridge Boatyard?
Best wishes,

Pauline

Have you been in contact with the River Cruiser Class?

Here is her entry in their register

http://www.rivercruiser.org/index.php/yacht-information

They may have more information, depending on how much previous owners have provided. That would be my first port of call.

Happy to support the honest and reliable pubs and businesses of The Norfolk Broads.

I will have to follow this with great detail, seeing as my move from Darwin to Mildura has just taken place. My boat that I am building for the Murray arrived OK after it's 3500 road trip. May be I should when finished go the other way.
