Hello everyone. I have just joined your happy crew, although not living anywhere near the broads, I own a Broom Scorpio (Emma Louise - a Broads vessel) I purchased from a gent in Horning and then transported to her new home in France.  She now graces the Lake Vassiviere near Eymoutiers in Haute Vienne.
I wonder if any one could tell me if John Broom Boats still exist? I would like to get some information on the history of Emma Louise.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for the reply - unfortunately the website for JOHNBROOMBOATS is not functioning. The email address is no more and the telephone numbers are not active. Just my luck. My insurance company here are being very French and insisting on knowing the exact dry weight of the craft - they won't take my word for it.
She is a beaut I must admit, the missus is OK as well. Unknown to us that beach was for naturists and we were politely told either to strip or leave - frightening the local wildlife would not have been wise so we left.

TextThank you Sarah, that is a great help. One question though, is that weight with canopy or without?
What a shame you no longer build boats, my Scorpio is now well known here on Vassiviere and gets a wave and admiring looks whenever we go out. Beautiful looking craft.
Thanks again - Mike
