I’ve just noticed that Herbert Woods are having a bit of a boat sale this year – which to me says that lettings are not maybe so good?

What I am surprised at is Quiet Light is up for say at just under £50,000 – which to my understanding is the first time one of these hull shapes will perhaps get into private hands.

Caribbean Light and Glittering Light are also both up for sale and interesting to note by September 2012 – or sooner depending on bookings.  This lead me to wonder it is all about lettings not being that good which is why they are downsizing – Royals have 2 for sale, Richardson’s have several for sale too.

Certainly if you have the money, it is a good time to get a looked after hire boat.

I dont think they are down sizing. Olympic 2 and Royale 1 launched at HW this year with 2 more currently being built in the shed.

Fair enough.  I just always seem a bit down feeling when old cruisers leave a boatyard for good.
