We've just got back from meeting the new owners of Singapore II which is currently laying at Thorpe. She has been surveyed and found sound below the waterline, but as usual she needs some plank replacement. The major finding was a rotten breast hook that will need replacing.
Strangely enough we met them in Retford on the Chesterfield Canal,in their floating home 1937 narrowboat at a working boat rally. A large Woolwich called Chertsey if you're interested. They have bought Singapore II, also built in 1937, to be their holiday base by and on the sea.
Singapore II will be leaving the Broads and will be based at Walton-on the-Naze. The owners will take her to Lowestoft and then meet up with an experienced skipper to take them to Walton.
A Dunkirk Little Ship you can see her on Craig's database
