Sitting on the bank at South Walsham on Sunday, watching the world go by, my mate and I noticed that a number of boats had a registration number with a dash and a fourth number on the end. For example P563-4 (not a real number, at least I don't think so). Anyone know why and what does it signify?

Hi Steve

I think it refers to the number of people allowed on
board.

Regards

This was a recent thread wich mentioned it http://www.the-norfolk-broads.co.uk/viewmessages.cfm?Forum=37&Topic=24329

I've spent most of my money on Women, boats and beer - the rest I needlessly squandered.

Number of people allowed on board, that would seem to make sense. I don't know how I missed it on the thread Poppy has posted a link to.
