I am interested to discover the whereabouts or fate of the 9 Star Supremes built by Jack Powles of Wroxham, six of them in 1966/7 and a further three in 1970.
The info I have at present, largely,  but not exclusively, thanks to Craig’s database is as follows. They all started life in the Powles hire fleet
R641     Star Supreme 1.       This was the wooden plug for the mould to make the rest and which became Superb Gem 1, then Superb Heart, was sold into private hands in 2000 when she became Ivy Lady and recently evolved into Broad Ambition. There is no mystery where she is these days!
R642     Star Supreme 2.  The first of the proper fibreglass hulls. Sold into private hands around  1986 she was christened “Gotcha”  of all things!   Where is she now?
R643     Star Supreme 3.  Sold by Powles to Ripplecraft in 1987, renamed Dream Girl and sold on to Crown Cruisers under the same name. In 1990 Richardsons bought her and renamed her Carousel and sold her on to Hearts Cruisers where she continued as  Carousel  until her last recorded sighting in 1999. Where is she now?
R644     Star Supreme 4.  Bought by Richardsons in 1985/6 she  was renamed Superb Gem and was the flagship of their fleet until 1999 when I was able to purchase her. To this day she remains the finest example afloat of the original layout and internal finish. I know exactly where I left her!
R645       Star Supreme 5.  Very little information. Disposed of by Powles about 1985/7.  Photographed by Chris Rock in 2005. Can anyone add anything?
R646       Star Supreme 6.  Again very little information. Disposed of by Powles about 1985/7. No sightings or photos since
Then we come to the 1970 batch.
E11     Star Victor 1. Bought by Richardsons 1985/7 and renamed Supreme Gem. Now if this boat had 10 berths then she was for sale at the same time in the same wet shed as R644. I remember an extraordinary folding double bed taking up half the wheelhouse! She sold in the spring of 2000 and I believe she went to Ireland.
E12     Star Victor 2. Sold in 1987 as Golden Lady to Ripplecraft and then on to Crown Cruisers in 1989. In 1990 Richardsons bought her and called her Monaco before selling her on to Hearts Cruisers in 1995. Last recorded sighting was in 1998.
E13     Star Victor 3.  Sold in 1986 to R.O.Smith/ RiverLine and renamed Avon Drifter, Waveney Drifter,  Yare Drifter & Bure Drifter!  Sold to Harbour Cruisers in 1990 and renamed Chichester Harbour. Sold to Alexander Cruisers before 1999 and called Amelia. No sighting since.

Craig has been using a photo as an example of type ,where he has no other, taken by Daniel Horner in 1995. It’s not possible to make out which boat this is. Any ideas?
I have today sent Craig all the photos I have including some of R642 and R644 from 1984 which have only just come to light. It may be a day or two before he can get them posted on the database, no pressure, Craig!

Commodore,

R643 Carousel in 2001 she was on the canals around the Lincoln area. Used as a liveaboard by a plasterer. He tried selling her but failed. I took some pictures of Ebay at the time but they are very samll and don't take kindly to enlarging. He eventually succeeded in selling her about 3-4 years ago so he tells me (I've just spoke with him on the phone) the New owner moved her to Gunthorpe Bridge near Nottingham on the Trent, apparently there is a lock and a pub there and it is quite popular. The plasterer has had no contact with the new owner since he sold R643 to him but thinks he may still have his phone number somewhere, the new owners name is Geof or Geoff or even Jeff.

I have asked the plasterer to send on my e-mail/phone number to the new owner in the hope that he will contact me. Failing that then it looks like a trip out on the Tiger on a nice day to try and find Gunthrope bridge then have a nosey around.

Ref the other Star Supremes/Victors maybe have a hunt around on the canal forums and post up a wanted info request. Ireland probably has its own boating forum too I would think.

Hope this helps.

Hi Clive/Griff

The Powells 40 footer was Bleu Minelle (sp?) and was fitted with a sliding canopy rather than the folding, i can't find the listing at the moment, i'll keep looking.

Hi Glen Mist

Bleu Minelle is a much later version built around 1985 with the whole roof sliding on a ramped track

Thanks for trying to help anyway
