All very helpful comments thank you. I have already packed sharp knife and tin opener but will add some microwave rice and tins of chicken curry and chilli con carne which is a good idea.
I am worried about not being able to find a pub/restaurant so we have been trying to work out an itinerary so I can look at booking a table in advance.

Hi Ruth, sorry but there won't be much point in booking a table if you can't get moored up.
The New Inn at Horning allowed you to book a table and a mooring however they are under new ownership and not sure if they still offer this service.
