In April 1963 my parents and two of their friends chartered a gaff-rigged sloop named Vagabond from Martham. A detailed log was kept of their week-long voyage including photographs and pictures. The entire log has now been published on www.kirkend.com and is a fascinating record of the Broads at a time when sailing boats still outnumbered motor-cruisers (just!).
Hi Kate and welcome. Enjoyed the account immensly, especially liked the free-hand sketches! Do`nt think I can remember ever seeing a Broads yacht with the Hoeseasons bird on it. Nice to see that she is still about as well.

Katy a very warm welcome to the site, the voyage of the Vagabond is a brilliant website. As mentioned Vagabond is in beautiful condition and still cruising and racing on the broads along with her sister ship Rogue. cheers Mat
A warm welcome Katy, great story and a really good website if I might say so. I don't know if it's only me but I found that reading your story and also Chris's adventures this year made an interesting contrast. Says something about the timeless appeal of the Broads.
