Just got back from a fabulous week on a fabulous boat. Barnes Rhapsody 3 All Electric with Bow and Stern thrusters, these thrusters are a real must now. We decided that we would go south this year as we haven't done south for a number of years. First Night (Sat) at Acle in the Bridge Inn. Next day over Breydon setting of at daybreak, how great was that steering from up top with the sun coming up. Second Day/Night Rockland St Mary The New Inn we moored early enough for lunch and then had Dinner that night too, great pub. Third Day/Night Norwich Yacht Station, we found a 50 foot space for our 44 foot boat and moored it sideways using the Bow and Stern Thrusters on together, a big audience were suitably impressed as was I,no boat I have ever hired in thirty years except these Rhapsody's could do that without fending off and pulling in, Norwich has great pubs, shops, market. Fourth Day/Night Beccles, what a lovely town and a Witherspoons too Food and beer there for Lunch and the Bear and Bells for Dinner, great service and food and beer.Fifth Night Oulton Broad two pubs to choose from, think we chose the wrong one. Sixth Day/Night Waveney River Centre they've made a good job of this pub and restaurant, Lunch and Dinner here fantastic food, beer and service, and the Grandkids went swimming too, this place is well worth the visit. We had to leave the next morning at dawn ( this is getting a habit but it is truly the best time to travel) to make the long cruise back to Wroxham via Breydon, we made such good time we were able to stop for lunch at The New Inn Horning where Gus made room for us, Good beer and a great Cromer crab salad, we always try and visit the New inn at least once, everything is good quality here. The last night we spent in Barnes Yard with a Thai take away and drink the boat bar dry. All the pubs welcomed the kids and the dog, The weather was the best ever, and no rubbish disposal problems at all, I look like I've been to Spain for the week. I was worried how the all electric boat would cope with so much traveling, but it took it so well, and pulling away early morning just on electric with no engines running was really handy, especially for the boats moored along side, hot showers for four adults and two kids every day, enough electric for breakfasts and lighting, NO running of engines while moored. Barnes have done it again and provided me the tool to give my family a fantastic holiday. We booked Rhapsody 3 for next year before we left. Well done Matthew and Daniel and all your staff, a well turned out boat and excellent service from ALL the staff.
