Life on the Broads at 4mph was great and the week did not seem to fly by at all, San Lucia looked after us very well and as a whole was a good boat for the two of us. We had plenty of living space and storage with the added bonus of a bathroom each. The pictures on Richardsons website are not entirely accurate, they are either from a similar boat or San Lucia has had an interior make-over. The main differences being that there is a new modern gas cooker and kitchen area and the fridge is new, but smaller than the one shown. The table that is also shown in rear area next to the kitchen also does not exist and the long church pew type bench in the raised seating area has been replaced by two small stools. The bathroom in the main bedroom is the larger of the two, both toilets are ok but not great (but you are on a boat after all). The floor boards in the main living area are very creaky and noisy, so there is no chance of moving round quietly if someone is asleep. The main criticism that we have is the drivers seating space, the seat is fixed and cannot be adjusted, has very limited leg room and standing space, so if you are over 6ft or on the larger side, or both, you will no doubt find it uncomfortable for longer periods of time. We cooked on board for the entire week, which I found to be ok but without the rear table, worktop space is very limited, so you have to be organised. I chose to do a weeks shopping before we started, then found out that the fridge is small (the online pictures showed a regular sized under counter fridge) so I only just managed to squeeze the fresh food in for the two of us. It should also be noted that some of the limited space inside the fridge is taken up by a freezer compartment, which you can fit a few small items into. We used the 240v system a few times for the microwave and charging things and it all worked fine, never had any issues with the boats battery life either, the power was still available the following morning. Never used the TV, so can't comment on that, we took our I-Pads with programs and films already downloaded. The sliding roof is manual but the two of us managed it, even from the inside of the boat, although the other half is 6ft7 so that helped! All in all San Lucia is a decent enough boat for the price band and good enough if there is only 2 or 3 of you. Found the quarter berth quite amusing, it had the same space as a coffin! Once you were in, all that could be seen was your head and shoulders!

Sunday
All the washing is done, all the photos have been uploaded and our holiday tale is complete. The boating brochures have been perused for next year and a couple of boats shortlisted, decisions and bookings will be made very soon. We will be back to enjoy more of what the Broads have to offer. Next trip we will head straight down to Yarmouth and cross Breydon at the first opportunity so we can see what the Southern Broads have to offer or maybe we'll just start off in the South, for now who knows. I caught the other half looking at boats for sale earlier, so we may not even have to hire one lol!
We are by no means experts, but if you have any questions, particularly if they are about the boat then please ask.
Hope you have enjoyed reading this and looking at the pictures, if we passed you on Thursday, then you got your picture taken!!
