Day 1: See's me back at pacific cruisers in loddon,  like we had never been away. The welcome as warm as ever, Richard and Fiona make us feel like old friends not customers. The usual pleasantries and boating chat and we saw Pacific Diamond for the first time. And she looks great, lovely lines great style and well presented like all pacific boats. Once inside wow diamonds a stunner, inside you have all mod cons spotlessly clean and really lovely space to be in. I confess im impreseed.

Looked round and stowed everything away, loads of storage space, both bedroomw have ample space as do both heads. Galley / lounge is open plan which I really like, plenty of light giving a fantastic living space.

Arrival at pacific was later than planned due to hold ups on route but by 6.30 departure was due.

This is pacific diamonds first outing in pacific guise and i was on shake down duty.

First night the mamouth journey from pacifics loddon yard to loddon basin, the basin had a few boats, quickly moored up thanks to the bow thruster. Right by the hook up so hooked up and settle in.

Later popped into loddon for some food and an early night.

Day 2:

Bit of a sleep in I confess but its a holiday after all,  breakfast and stow the remains of the stuff and settle in. Low tide at Yarmouth was mid afternoon so a lazy start and wander round the loddon yards and chedgrave. Then tootle off down the chet. Past Pacific I spied Richard and reported all was well.

The Chet has had alot of work done and is in places much widened,  pics to follow. Big improvement..

Plan was down past reedham down the new cut through st olaves stop at burgh castle then on through breydon and yarmouth and thats how it went. Riding the tide to yarmouth slack heading up lower bure then tide pushing it up. Had a lovely journey no drama and what the broads are all about.

Ended up at Acle and sampled the bridge inn, can only say how good it was.

After sampling a few back to the boat to get some zzzz

Day 3:

Sunday, took diamnond to potter heigham, moored in herby woods, potter was pretty buzzing lathams new tackle centre looking very smart and the whole place looking good following princess annes visit. Quick look round the boats for sale. Of course followed by a lathams visit. Its part of the holiday surely? Came out with some stuff I obviously couldnt live without, mmmm ok maybe not. Popped over to the pilots to see what record they had for diamond to report back to the yard. Have to confess we got some PH fish and chips, put bluntly, wish we hadnt, poor is being polite.

Back onboard, back through potter riverside properties then down the thurne and turn into womack dyke, coming down the island moorings are empty, ok its early in the day but suns out lets stop, sunday night spent on the island what a lovely mooring this is. Very quiet very nice indeed.

Day 4:

Left womack island and down to womack dyke and a walk upto ludham etc, lovely spot. Today the suns out if a little breezy, but the broads at its best.

Leaving womack back on the thurne heading towards the bure, destination river ant. Where who knows, but up the ant.

Yachts out today in the sun and breeze. Coming past st bennets a yacht and cruiser are spotted close together the yacht dropping its sail drifing round sideways mi river. After slowing down etc to avoid its obvious thete has been an incident the bow sprint of the yacht is through the side window of the cruiser, nasty. The crew trying to get the yacht un attached from the cruiser.  See pic (hopefully).

More to follow...

Sounds like your having a great time Bob. I confess we had a quick look around Diamond when we dropped Dawn back last Thursday evening, a lovely looking boat. The only thing that would partially put me off hiring her is the position of the helm as it appeared visibility would be quite poor with the canopy closed.
Still a lovely looking boat though and sounds like your having a fantastic time  Cheers

Hi Bob, it sounds like you had a lovely holiday. We are thinking about booking the Pacific Diamond and your write up was helpful. Do you have any pictures of the interior of the boat showing the cabins and seating areas? as they have very few pictures on the website.
Thanks and regards, Jenny and Paul  Smile
