After reading the excellent Holiday Tales on the Forum it brought back memories of my trips on the Broads.
It seems that on each occasion I have visited the Broads something memorable has happened. This cannot be said of my other Holidays.
My first memory is from 35 years ago when my uncle and Grandmother took my brother and myself on holiday so my Mother could enjoy the late stages of her pregnancy.
My Uncle bought us both fishing rods with handles shaped like fish if I remember rightly. He baited up for us and took the fish (seemed like thousands) of the hook.
One night my brother and I were woken by a few mild expletives from my Uncle. On further inspection it was more gruesome than I imagined as my Uncle grappled with an enormous snake, blood pouring from a bite on his finger. Of course the 'enormous snake'was infact a medium sized eel and to this day my uncle got me 'Hooked' on fishing and very wary of eels.
That was my first memories of the Broads and I would like to share some others later if I may.

Thanks for the welcome. Just trying to get a few facts right with my brother for my next tale.
