Hi All,

I stumbled across this site the other day and just had to join in, having only come across "speakers corner" before, what a breath of fresh air this site is.

A little about me:-
I've been coming to the Broads since about 1991 my first hire boat being "Perfection" from Greenway Marine at Loddon, and hiring at least once a year somtimes up to three times a year up until 2003.

In 2003 we decided to take the plunge and by our own boat - it's a nice (to us anyway Wink  ) Horizon 35 - Contentment - which we are fortunate enough to more in Wroxham.

We're not just Summer boaters we come up at all times of the year, in my opinion some of the best boating is to be had in the colder months, providing you're hardy enough... In fact one of my fondest memories was spending Chrsitmas on the Broads on Duke of Light from Herbert Woods yard.

I've had to have the boat converted to Propane to try and survive the really cold spells, before this we had lots of porblems with the gas freezing (anybody know any good tips to stop this happenng without resorting to Propane?)

In my honest opinion the Broads is one of the best places in the World, I just can't get anough of it. I went to Spain earlier in the year for the fist time, and even though I could see the appeal through the climate, I found that I spent most of my time wishing that I was on the boat - sad but true.

Anyway enough waffle, I look forward to contributing to the forum and if anybody sees me out and about give me a toot. Smile

Derek, Hilary and Daniel
