Hi Brian,

I dare say Paul will be posting up some pics soonish, so you can check up on how things are going!

I feel the need to compete with the stunning pic you use as an avatar, so here's a pic of The Topaz (when she was brand spanking new in 1984) enjoying a day out at the Soton Boat Show!

Just got back and posted earlier above, wet at times on the outside !!! and we had the brightest flash of lightening and loudest clap of thunder I have come accross.  A good turn out and for those who were staying a great selection of beers available for them to get wet on the inside!

See you down the river,
Roy and Diane

Roy and Diane,

Believe the lightning you are talking about is the one that hit the mast of the white boat behind white moth.

Around 8ish, as I was on the taxi coming home

Sounds a bit close for comfort Gary!

Maybe it's the masts that attract it??  Playful Wink

And there's me wanting to sail an Enterprise with you Smile

Different rig to a Heron if I remember right..Herons were Gunter Rigged and Enterprises Bermudan??

Memories of having my head regularly scraped by the kicking strap spring to mind...no wonder I went baldy early Tinhat

Jamesey,

You got it right about the rigs, and no need to worry about being out in a dinghy with me and the flashy stuff starts in the sky.

I normally capsize the boat and swim to the bank, hopefully that way I aint getting hit by it and there is every chance the boat will survive too.

Last nights was the top of a wooden mast. We couldnt see if there was any damage, but there again young Jake couldnt see out the window to drive the boat LOL

hi peeps

bilge fairy and i drove out to the meet and returned sober.

it was a lovely afternoon, the rain thunder and lightening dident manage to dampen the mood at all.

bilge fairy painted childrens faces but no bald heads!

glen mist's wife was game so she became a flower power girl for the day.

it was good to see Dr Packman came and i hope he enjoyed himself.

sadly we had to leave  at six as we had things to do.

jill
