Heard this on BBC Norfolk this morning before I left the boat to come home. Apparently, a hire cruiser crashed into Haven bridge, presumably yesterday. The skipper reportedly said he didn't know he wasn't supposed to be in the harbour. Anyone heard any more on this?
Been under Haven bridge in a hire boat in 1963 on Crusader 1 from Richardsons. One of us idiots wrapped a rope round the prop on Breydon. The harbourmaster towed us to the Yacht Station. Richardsons guys couldn’t shift it so we were towed through Haven bridge, moored to the port bank and the boat was craned out. (Another idiot left his camera on board so no pics.)
I do feel sory for the skipper, it's so easy to do as the sign telling hireboats not to proceed is so very small and the letters are less than a foot high
