If I leave the polishing and compounding till next weekend will the weather permit my doing it or will the sun come out again and snapper my chances of doing it well which is just my luck

Whatever you decide to do the weather will react in adverse proportion in my experience. You want to varnish, it becomes damp or pelts it down with rain...you want to compound and polish the sun decides it's time for some serious exercise.

It's like organising a BBQ...sure fire way of ending a drought period!

I've taken to deciding on a specific day to do a job, then changing my mind at the last minute to another day to confuse the weather.  Smile

Can't say it's a foolproof method though...

My advce - you schedule the work in for next weekend. Of course the sun is likely to be cracking the pavements but everyone else will be happy and you can claim all the credit!

Paul
