I have recently heard from several sources that the port wont allow the galleon to enter the port unless it is insured.
Insurance is rumoured to be somewhere in the region of £30000.
Unless a way can be found around this, she wont be going anywhere.

I think this next question is going ot be self answering

She is on the river, so she needs a toll?
When was the last time her toll was paid and why has the BA sat doing nothing for so long?
Don't go after speeders, don't go after non toll payers, ahh must be easier to go after things like planning permission maybe?
Or do the BA management get paid to sit on their hands, wring them in public and then raise tolls all round becuase of their inefficiency in not collecting tolls in the first place?

The ship is owned by a company that has ceased trading. The vessel is now abandoned. Who do you collect a toll off?

My suggestion is that if the BA are going to back-fill the Wherry Dykes in Oulton Dyke then the Golden galleon could be towed down there and sunk, and then buried in the spoil off Oulton Broad, if and when they do dredge it. Doubtless there will be some rule that prevents that, even though it was once common practice on the Broads of old.

Jenny Morgan,
Being the name of my boat and the generic name applied to the flag atop of a Norfolk Wherry mast, unique to Broadland. Now you know!

If the company has ceased traing then why was the vessel not seized / removed when the tolls were not paid?
If it belonged to a company which is no longer there / trading then there would not have been a prolonged legal proceeding would there in getting it removed?
Unless of course in the winding up of the company the assets were awarded to an individual, in which case you have a person to collect tolls off.
