Keen amateur or seasoned pro, come and enjoy the fun at the annual Open Fishing competition at Waveney River Centre on Saturday 16th September. 14 trophies are up for grabs and entry costs just £1.50 (£1.00 children). Registration is from 9:00 and the contest starts at 9:30 - no pre-booking is required. The weigh in is at 4.15.

A carvery supper is available in the Waveney Inn for £9, but you must book on 01502-677599. The day will be rounded off with entertainment from Nigel & Mark into the wee small hours.

Hope to see some of you there.

By the way, James, Eddie is a girl! All big pike are girls. She used to adorn the boozer at Coldham Hall many years ago. When they ceased selling Bullards she swam up the waveney, put on a few pounds, must have stopped off at Reedham Ferry for a large meal on the way.

Regretfully the match coincides with the Henham steam Engine Rally so won't be along.

Jenny Morgan,
Being the name of my boat and the generic name applied to the flag atop of a Norfolk Wherry mast, unique to Broadland. Now you know!
