I agree with the last comment
Why should our volunteer ,disciplined and highly respected forces have to deal with people who don’t want to be there,don’t want to do as told etc.
National service is not the answer
In my opinion it starts in the home

Therein lies the problem.   You are not allowed to discipline the little darlings these days.

National Service never did anyone any harm.   I am from a military family and I married a military man.   Just because someone has never had any luck in life does not mean to say they will not shape up into being a fantastic person.   I guess I am a lot older than some of you.

It doesn't always start at home. I know of young people who have decided to lift themselves out of the gutter and make something of themselves, and by heck, that is just what they have done.
