And some people still want to swim in it! Many are motivated by websites encouraging wild swimming on The Broads in busy navigable areas. This happening then moves on to encourage the young full of bravado dayboat type visitor, possibly under the influence of drink, to leap into the water and swim across boat paths in places like Salhouse. I am always worried about them being injured by a passing boat or the many things beneath the surface, but they may also be giving themselves a nice dose of tummy bug. I wonder if, when they are later throwing up at home, they ever connect the two things ? No, probably not. Karen

Raw sewage is an emotive expression - the outfall up the Ant is due to a lot of Horning Village being below river level and the problem this inevitably causes and a lot of the discharge will be river water just going round, and round, and round again! They have had goes at fixing the issue in Horning, but whatever they have done, it doesn't work when the water levels are very high.

I remember a fairly recent article regarding water quality at Norwich. Not just the expected 'floaters' but also a number of drugs, both recreational and medical. Perhaps paddle-boarders could organise 'dodge the t*rd' slaloms!

Maggie, If I was put of your research crew you could pass the information to me and I can do what I like with it as they haven't told me.
Gary. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
