Part of the old river Bure loop was up-until the 1980's still accessible from fleet dyke. We used to sail it with a small dingy from fleet dyke back round to the Bure and then haul the boat over the bank near Ant mouth. Parts of the Broads like this are exciting simply because of their secret nature. Where you draw the line between extensive dredging or losing such features as they become silted up and lost to scrub is a difficult one.
