No, it isn't. This incident happened about a mile away from the Yacht Station, nowhere near it.

Statement issued by the BA on there Facebook page
" Statement regarding fatal incident on the River Bure

At approximately 2pm on Tuesday 15 September a man was injured on the River Bure at Clink Hill, West Caister, and died of his injuries at Addenbrooke’s Hospital last night.

The man, who was aged in his 20s and from North Yorkshire, was taken to the James Paget Hospital with serious injuries. He was later transferred to Addenbrooke's Hospital where, sadly, he died overnight.

The incident took place 1 mile upstream of Great Yarmouth Yacht Station on the River Bure and the vessel was later recovered to the Yacht Station.

Norfolk Constabulary, Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, the Coastguard, RNLI and the East of England Ambulance Service attended the incident.

Everyone at the Broads Authority offers our sincere condolences to the man’s family and those affected.

The accident will be subject to investigation but it does appear to highlight the dangers of entering the water from a boat, especially in fast flowing tidal waters. The Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) has been informed of the incident.

At this stage the Authority will be making no further comment until further details have been released by the Emergency Services.

The link doesn’t seem to work, looking on the ba site latest news item is re the station at Lowestoft a couple of days ago.

Sad incident. Can’t recall such a flurry of deaths since the early 2000s. RIP those who have passed and condolences to those left behind.

"The accident will be subject to investigation but it does appear to highlight the dangers of entering the water from a boat,"

With condolences to the family of the deceased young man.

However, I did note that a boat of similar design was towing a young man through the water just above How Hill using the lifebelt and rope. Given the timescale, they could have been at Gt Yarmouth at the given time. I wonder if it was them?

A keen and active sportsman, from the village my sister lives in. Not known to us, but a sad loss of a young life.
