Hi Richard

Can you confirm that the Red Herring has closed. We are  coming down to Oulton Broad on Sunday and  i was going to reserve a table. I notice that their website appears to have gone.
The Commodore wasn,t great the last time we visited i,m afraid and i am reluctant to book again.

I,m a Posh Boy now I own a swanky Gin Palace!

If your sort pass me on the river you have my permission to “parp” in my general direction !!.

Yes Paul, the Red Herring is closed, I loved their food, worth every expensive penny. For something similar I would suggest The Third Crossing, up Victoria Road. About a 20 min walk.

I'm going to add another plug, for a business I'm not involved with in the slightest, but really does the best quality foor. You get what you pay for, that means it's not cheap, and it's a taxi ride from Oulton Broad. The Bell Inn, Carlton Colville. It's owned by the same group that have the Commodore and the Waveney.

The head chef, Barclay, who I've had the pleasure of working with, is fantastic, he really knows how to cook. And the pub is a real pub, nothing plastic, and no juke box.

That’s so sad about the Red Herring, it’s amazing how quickly things change, We were there only 4 weks ago, the Red Herring was open and busy no mention of problems.
The Chippy was closed.
Had a Lamb kebab from Flames which was amazing (we had’t even had a proper drink)

Might be there on Saturday, if we can book a berth at short notice.

Dave Frown

if it is to be it is up to me.
