It looks like we'll very likely be going to Oulton and Beccles.  As for the Yare, that depends on the Haven Bridge being fixed by the middle of next week.  Does anyone have any idea about the current state of play there?

I wish we could John.  Our air draft is 13 metres and I believe the Haddiscoe Cut road bridge is 24 feet!  That's just over seven metres Frown

UPDATE:  The Nancy Blackett was last heard from heading to Southwold yesterday.  I would be interested to know whether users of this forum can see the following photo:

Hi Andy No it says that you have to be a member of face book.A pity your to high you could moor at the Waveney River Centre and hire a day boat if you so wish. There is a Werry and several old wooden boats at Hippersons Beccles you can cross the bridge and walk along river bank footpath to boat yard.Enjoy your stay. John

Just checked - yes you do have to have a Facebook account and to have become 'friends' with the Nancy Blackett to see the pics.  But anyway, They're tied up in Southwold right now and enjoying a pint of Adnams at the Harbour Inn, so Facebook informs me.  I'll ask them if they'll make the pictures public.

UPDATE: Nancy now headed for Lowestoft, expected to be there Thursday and Friday night if anyone wants to come and say 'hello'.  The current crew seem to want creature comforts, soft living and showers so they have booked into the Lowestoft Cruising Club (Berth 27).  We will be taking over from them and heading up to Beccles on Saturday, given a fair wind.  We should be back in Lowestoft Sunday night and being made of sterner stuff (we don't need showers) we will moor at the Laura Moncur's berth next to the Mincarlo floating museum, which Mark has very kindly offered to let us use.  Then, we hope to head for Yarmouth, Breydon and the Yare, should the Haven Bridge repairs go well tonight.  If not, we'll be in Yarmouth close to the Haven Bridge for a day or two.
Anyone want to watch us go through Mutford Lock, Friday evening (if we're allowed) or Saturday morning?  Here's a link to the Wherry Hotel webcam which is trained on the lock.

If you have a Facebook account, find the Nancy Blackett and add us as a 'friend' and you'll be able to follow us that way too.

New crew will be taking over 10:00 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday), myself included and should be heading through Mutford lock into Oulton and then to Beccles!  Honk or wave if you see us Wink  - we have three red sails (Bermuda main, staysail and jib).
Watch out for very long bowsprit as we are less manoeuvrable than a Broads yacht would be due to our long keel and deep draft.  Fingers crossed that we won't end up impaling any hired motor cruisers with it, or anyone else come to that!
