The other sad news for those of us with fairly small boats is that the public staith has been trashed, went for a cruise down to Oulton last Sat to find that our only options was to pay £4.80 to moor in the yacht station for an hour or £10 to moor at the pub, moored at the pub and said nowt on the principal we spent more than that on beer and games of pool, the bottom line is of course we won't be going back, certainly not till the summer "rush hour" is over.

Roger

P.S. Caught on too late that it was a special go as fast as you like day, especially if you had a gin palace, and especially if there were three of you and could have a race.

That really is very sad news, I really hope that there will not be an occasion when someone who could have been saved by having the station there passes away.

What value do you put on the view then ?

I dont know what the RNLIs plans are for us now but will keep everyone updated with events as they happen. Colemans Dyke has been investigated thoroughly but has been pushed aside on a number of reasons as per my post in "Oulton Broad Lifeboat Needs You"

Thank you for all your support folks, yes even the objectors were up for some sensible discussions on this forum and no hard feelings there.

We can only wait and see what the future brings, maybe a temporary home out of containers for a while or, god forbid, closing the station until a new site is found.

Ex Small boat driver and SAR for the forces and still joined a lifeboat...am I mad!!!

I don't think that I would blame the do gooders, Gordon. The site in question has to be Oulton Broad's most desirable site for commercial develoment. Me, a cynic, never!
