Seems busy everywhere just about full house at Reedham last night though most scampered off with the ebb tide this morning.

Hemsby Lifeboat was paged yesterday at 5pm to reports of an elderly male suspected of suffering a stroke at a remote property on the River Thurne (Potter Heigham). The Broads Lifeboat was launched at Phoenix Boat Yard and proceeded to the casualty’s property, dropping off two crew to provide immediate casualty care, it then returned to Potter Heigham to collect paramedics & equipment before returning to the property. Once the paramedics were happy the casualty was stable enough to be moved he was placed on a stretcher and transferred to the lifeboat ready to be taken to the waiting ambulance for transfer to hospital. Hemsby lifeboat was then stood down, also in attendance was HM Coastguard Rescue Team Winterton & East of England Ambulance Service. The crew would like to wish the gentleman a speedy recovery.

Hemsby Lifeboat was paged at 9:14 last-night by Humber Coastguard to reports of a despondent male who had gone missing from a vessel near Castle Marsh. Our Broads Lifeboat launched at the Waveney River Centre and proceeded to the search area. After a short while HM Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 163 arrived on scene using specialist thermal imaging equipment to search the area. Hemsby Broads Lifeboat conducted a low level search of areas under trees & dense reed-beds where Rescue 163’s equipment was less effective. Once a comprehensive search was complete Both Hemsby Lifeboat And Rescue 163 were stood down. A big thanks to the crew who met us back at station to help clean down, great teamwork as always ??

Hemsby Lifeboat was paged twice last night. The first call out was to a day-boat which was a few hours overdue from Beccles. Hemsby Broads Lifeboat was tasked to search the river Waveney up to Lowestoft, but the hire boat was found whilst on route and  we were stood down just as we reached the launch point.

Hemsby Broads Lifeboat was called out again later in the evening to assist the East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) with the evacuation of an elderly male from a vessel who was suffering from chest & abdominal pains. The casualty was located approximately half a mile from Upton Dyke where he was transported by stretcher by Hemsby Broads Lifeboat to the waiting ambulance.
