I do not believe I referred to the Call handler as ignorant!!!      I just said that they have no local knowledge and when you speak to them about a specific area of the Broads they do not know what you are speaking about.

Women dont nag they just
point
things out...

Hylander, Billmaxted posted "just the wholly ignorant types who make the response, but then if you are sitting in a call centre in hull what do you expect. "
You then posted " I agree with Bill ". Not sure what you were agreeing with ?

“Team was paged at 20.18 this evening to Sutton Staithe where a lady had fallen off a vessel into the water and was unconscious.
When the team arrived the casualty had been pulled from the water and was in the vessel conscious and with paramedics.
The team then carried her out of the vessel on a stretcher and into the waiting ambulance.
Also in attendance was Norfolk Fire Service.

This was taken from another site. Just wondered if the Fire Service or Ambulance assisted in removing casualty from water due to them having been sent to exact location in a timely fashion , as per the response from the coastguard services too.

"There is nothing worse when you need help urgently than speaking to someone who has no knowledge of The Broads and quite frankly doesn't even know where the Broads are.   What chance do you have.   It happened to us once."

I used to work in the ops room at HMCG and was there for 5 years, we took a lot of pride in our local knowledge back then and the restructure and loss of local knowledge was the main reason i moved onto wind farming. I took a real pride in being the Broads "go to" person on my watch. Sadly i can see where you are coming from with this, technology is no substitute for knowledge!

14/10/18 @ 22.46 BST tasked to back-up flank team of Winterton in assisting the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust in extricating a man from a hire cruiser at Russels Boat Yard in South Walsham Broad.  The gentleman was suffering from chest pains and was conveyed to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital for treatment.  Also attending was the Hemsby Broads Rescue boat and team who's valuable assistance was much appreciated.  #137/18

HM coastguard official post
23/10/18 @ 16.36 BST.  Team paged by CGOC Humber to reports of two vessels grounded on mud near post 64 on Breydon Water.  Working with our colleagues from the ILB of Gt. Yarmouth & Gorleston Lifeboat, to evacuate 2 adults and 17 children from the two stricken vessels.  The final lift required the Broads Rescue Arancia to effect as the tide fell away rapidly.  Also on scene was the Broads Authority launch "River Dog".  The persons were brought to the remote Berney Arms moorings where they were met by the team and placed aboard the other two vessels of the flotilla.  All those evacuated were from the Sunderland Unit of the Sea Cadet Corps, who were caught out by the high winds and poor luck in having one of the vessels break down and running aground.  Fitters from the boatyard were also called to the location to carry out some other repairs to one vessel.  With all persons safely landed, welfare checks discovered one youngster was feeling quite poorly and the decision was taken to medevac to hospital to be checked over.  The person in question was later discharged with no complications.  #143/18
