PS i had a sunday lunch in the Ship ,so much Beef and pork that i could not eat it all so kim packed it in cling film for me and i had it in a crusty roll for tea whilst chugging up the Ant.
Be warned the meals in the Ship are on the generous size.
So go in with an empty tum Smile

Kimbo,

I am bringing the owner of the Folk & Roots Website onto the Northern Rivers for Easter.  Will be playing Bellowheak, pack of jokers and phil beer over the weekend.  Is the folk jam a public event?

Paul,

From the staithe head towards The Maltsters and carry on past, follow that road for about a mile to a mile and a half. Along the way it will bear Left and then Right. At the end of the road, turn Left and The Ship is just on the Right.

Remember to take torches as the lane is very dark at night. Also some reasonable inclines on the way, but nothing major.

I forgot to ask about directions on the other thread, that's very useful advice. Given Roy's recent comments about the Malsters, walking past it sounds a better idea by the minute. Still thinking about that pork and beef..........:-)

If you happen to have cycles with you, it's quite a nice ride from Ranworth, out to South Walsham, and then onto Upton staithe, although not recommended at night and not after a few jars.

Did this last year one afternoon, followed by the walk back to The Ship in the evening for dinner, stopping off at The Maltsters for a nightcap on the way back.

Hi kim,

Hypothetically, would you be interested in helping 20 VERY hungry, and even thirstier sailors in getting to and from your establishment from Ranworth staithe on a sunday evening?
