And just to add, we saw the boat on Sunday - stationary on the Bure just before the turn to Ranworth - causing a little bit of chaos for the posse of day boats, tacking yachts and ... oh yes us ??

I also believe this was to be their final holiday afloat due to Pru's on-going health problem. Can only hope they thoroughly enjoyed themselves in this delightful stretch of waterways   Smile .

WE watched the aforesaid programe last night and found it to be very disjointed. The editing was awful,
with no continuity of where they were at any time, jumping from Barton to Stalham, then back to Howe hill, so on and so forth.  very few places were named and  if you do not know the Broads you would not have a clue where they ere!! I must say they both enjoyed their bottles of red wine.  However it must be said they did not promote our lovely corner of England to any extent to make people want to rush there,  so we can still keep it a unique and wonderful place, unlike the congested canal system  Smile

I read somewhere that
drinking was
bad for you, so I have
given up Reading.

I really liked the programme. I thought they did a good job of showing the magic of The Broads and it is a brilliant advertisement for boating holidays. They explained the history very well and visited some nice places. They also showed people having fun holidays at a gentler pace.

The old photographs were supplied by Broadland Memories and The Ludham Archive. Great pictures which bring the history to life in a way that words can't.

I agree that they showed some of the sequences out of order, but this was to make a good story and it seemed fine to me. Unless you know the area well you would not notice and it doesn't matter anyway.

Overall, I think this is one of their better programmes and well worth watching.

Personally, I found the programme somewhat disappointing. I thought it was disjointed as well and also too scripted - even given poor Pru's condition. Not one of the better episodes in the series in my view and a lost opportunity.
