Can you hire a boat for the Christmas period, I have looked at Richardson's but all they seem to have for next Christmas are the boat houses?

This often comes up in threads if you search through. Basically almost all yards stopped winter hiring after a spate of bad winters  .

For the last few years only one or two yards do hire out but the choice of boats is limited and the costs are very expensive.

If it made commercial sense I am sure others would offer this service and I think you can draw your own conclusions of the risks for both yard and hirer when the weather although often benign can sometimes be absolutely awful for weeks at a time.

Have fun

On The Southern Broads you could try Freedom Boating Holidays based near Norwich. I believe they hire out boats all year round.

Hi there, we did xmas 2015 on the broads, faircraft Loynes (NBD) were the only yard we could find that would hire out over xmas, they only have a small number of boats they let out, its not the entire fleet. I would suggest getting in contact with them ASAP if you want to go. With the mild winter it was a great experience and was stunning to see the broads at this time of year, plus its pretty quiet.

If your tempted go for it.

Bob
