It is quite a narrow dyke, I wonder if the "small" unpowered is the most important point here, as in anybody mooring there should keep to the left of the centre line, which is impossible for the average powered boat. Then again I guess the same situation would exist if mooring in the dyke fir fee on the hotel side. I know the previous owner of the hotel would often have his Broom in the dyke and it took up most of the width of the dyke.

As far as the car park notice is concerned, I would have assumed that the black felt tip pen marks were just grafitti. I would be confident had I parked there in innocence that any penalty I incurred would not be supported in law. Not a legal assumption-just mine.

That the offer to redeem the value of the ticket at one of the other businesses has been withdrawn doesn't actually affect the liability to pay for parking.

What would happen is that you pay for your ticket, go to (for example) the cafe, then get rather annoyed that they won't take the car park fee off your bill. Which is, presumably, why the cafe now has the notice outside its door.

Palandine,

Quote "What would happen is that you pay for your ticket, go to (for example) the cafe, then get rather annoyed that they won't take the car park fee off your bill. Which is, presumably, why the cafe now has the notice outside its door."

The strange thing about the notice outside the café is that they are blaming the Hotel, yet surely if it is the café that is not refunding against goods purchased at the café, it is the café that is no longer providing free parking???

I have just reported what I saw. I don't know the background. Clearly, the ticket machine isn't giving out the tickets on which any refund was based. It may be that if you go into the hotel to pay, you either get a ticket that has to stay with your car, or they aren't giving out any tickets. The signs indicate that enforcement is by CCTV and a parking company.

(I always park in Roy's car park!)

Keith, I assume that the hotel re-embursed the various busines' when they returned the ticket stubbs. I'm surprised that the Hotel is acting in this way, Wendy was always very friendly and well liked at the Galley.

Some interesting photos there, Paladine. I wonder if anyone has gone into the Wroxham hotel and asked them what the situation is?
Getting it from the 'horse's mouth' will at least confirm or deny what has been written in this forum.

There you go then, you can give them a ring or, as you were there earlier, you could have asked them yourself.
By the way Paladine, I was trying to be polite and friendly towards you but you, yet once again, choose to be anything but.
