The Southern Broads are quite different from the Northern Broads...nowhere near as frantic. The tides are much more pronounced and deserve respect especially at places closer to Great Yarmouth...Reedham and Berney Arms on the Yare, St Olaves and Burgh Castle on the Waveney. You can save a surprising amount of fuel too by cruising with the tide rather than against it.
If you get the chance, a visit to Loddon/Chedgrave on the River Chet will reward as will a cruise down to Rockland St Mary on The Yare. Oulton Broad and Beccles on the Waveney are also terrific places to visit.
