Hi and welcome!  I am sure you will get plenty of advice for your trip, but will need to give us a bit more information before you plan your itinerary...

What dates are you travelling?  What time of day? Tide times and state of tide at Gt. Yarmouth will play a major part in thinking through the trip.  Also, what boat will you be travelling on?  I assume you will be on a boat?

It's a fair old trip...

Karen hi

Potter Heigham is approximately 8 1/2 hours non stop cruising. As Danny has stated you will need to provide more information so that  your passing through Yarmouth can be planned.

Kind Regards
Alan...

Hi and welcome, I assume that you will also planning a return trip, is this your first trip to the Broads? as most people on their first visit prefer the Northern Broads with less tidal flow and tidal rise and fall.

There is plenty to occupy you on your first trip staying to the Northern Broads; Wroxham, Ranworth, Potter heigham, Horning, and all stops in between. It is possible to stop off an take the train or bus into Great Yarmouth if that is your thing, too.

With little tidal difference, and tidal flow you do not have to be a super mariner either.

That's not to say that crossing Breydon water is too tricky, but you have to ensure you reach Great Yarmouth around one hour after low tide. Click the link below.
