According to the BA you can buy them at the Post Office or Tidings newsagents in Horning! if you have a look at the link below it gives a list of the electric points and card outlets!

We've usually picked some up from the PO,but stocks have been a bit patchy. I'm sure Ferry Marina would have some tho'.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

As well as the Post Office you can get them from Boulter Marine Horning, locally they are also available from Ranworth Staithe shop, BA information centres, Norfolk Marine Hoveton and I believe the Rangers carry them as well

The electric charging posts were originally installed for just that purpose, for charging electric boats. So far I have never seen one being charged.
However, the posts are very popular with ordinary boats, and the ease of obtaining the cards makes this task simpler.
The BA have installed a few more electric posts, and I would hope they install more.

As with ordinary moorings, it is difficult to find a mooring spot in popular places in the main season, like Ranworth or Horning, but also more difficult to find an electric hook up point with spare sockets.
People are advised to moor up early at popular locations, 4:00 pm at some places, so if you must have electric hook up, you might need to arrive very early indeed.
Now chasing mooring spots adds to the stress of the holiday, and to be fair, we carry enough stores on the boat to cater for ourselves in the event we can't moor up at some of the busier spots.
The loss of some of the Viaduct moorings at Hoveton will add to the congestion too.
Moral of the story...
Don't put yourself in a position that you must have electric hook up, ok I find it handy to hook up to charge the batteries, on those few days we don't want to cruise, but we have managed without for many many years. In fact some of the hire yachts don't have engines or 12 volt batteries.
I don't know why hire craft need electric hook up, as most have huge battery banks and large inverters, I guess the change to gas less boats is setting the trend.

From a hire yard perspective, it must be better ie cheaper, to charge the boat batteries with the customers bought fuel, before he arrives than charge the batteries from their own shore power, for them to pay the bill, which will of course increase their overheads.

best regards, Richard.

As Steve and Teresa say they are available at Horning Post Office 16 Lower Street and Tidings newsagents in Horning 10 Lower Street.

I have attached a PDF with a complete B.A list.

There may be additional outlets not registered with The B.A or may not have purchased the cards from B.A directly. Cheers

Kind Regards
Alan...

Here is a revised PDF hopefully making it easier to read.

The prior PDF has also been updated as I kept the same file name.

Kind Regards
