‘Morning folks.

Just a word of caution ...... we’ve been alerted this morning to a new email scam.

An email purportedly from bt saying your bill has not been paid. DO NOT open it, just delete it. If you open it, it takes all your stored passwords  Mad

Should you receive one of these scam emails it might be prudent to consider changing your passwords anyway to be on the safe side.

Steve.

I've been getting those for some time now. Don't worry about them Steve, just give me all your bank details and I'll sort it for you.  Evil Grin

That doesn't sound very likely. Where did you get your alert from?
There are a number of phishing e-mails about which pretend to come from BT but they usually require you to click on a link to a dodgy website in order to get information. Just opening the e-mail is unlikely to compromise your passwords.

From the local office of a major UK service/utilites provider who yesterday sent the alert to all their depots nationwide.

I think this is unlikely to be true.

Within the last 5 minutes I've moved 2 "invoices for unpaid bills" from my in box to the junk folder.
