We will be out on the northern rivers from Friday till Tuesday ..... Few extra bottles of brandy and vodka in the drinks cabinet just in case we get iced in.

I had a chilly and not very windy sail yesterday. Followed by a pub meal and a couple of pints.
An enjoyable day but I must concede that a bit more warmth and a SW breeze would have been welcome. But I suppose that I would not have had the whole place to myself then!!!

Ice is my only foe, but two more days afloat are still to be had. I love it...

I have got my "unashamed fair weather sailor" badge too. We put our boat to bed in December after a long season that started in early March. For me, the 3 months of downtime between now and March is a valuable period when I attend to the house and garden, which tend to take second priority during the boating season. This period is a bit like the fishing "close season" as it sharpens the appetite for the coming nine months on the water.

Having said that, I do envy you hardy folk who manage to cruise in Winter.

Cheers

Steve

We've just arrived back in not so sunny Essex after 7 days afloat, and by eck the last 2 were blimin cold!!

Thank heavens for a last minute log burner being installed.  Did feel very guilty however when a small freeman moored in front of us yesterday and all they had on board were 2 small oil filled rads brrrrr!

My boats moored up but looking at the recent weather I think it needs winterising sooner than later.

I shall be out sailing a Yeoman on Sunday as I do for almost every Sunday of the year plus other days as well.
The motor boat is afloat but not moving only due to a dead engine.!
