Hi everyone,

When we are down at beginning of October (getting bit excited now :D ) a friend may be coming over to the boat for a night and we are hoping to take him through Yarmouth and over Breydon. He will leave his car at Acle and once there we will spend the 2nd week down South so he will need to get back to his car. I have looked at bus and trains for him but these are both over an hour from Lowestoft to Acle.

My question therefore is would it be much more expensive to get a taxi as I think the journey time would be a lot less? Also I know a couple of people in the forum have used a good taxi service they recommend so does anyone have a name and number please.

All help gratefully received.

Thank you.

Christine.

:)

IMHO, there is no contest, take the train. It is a lovely trip by the Waveney then across Somerleyton swing bridge.

Along the New Cut a lot quicker than you can ever do by boat, across the Yare at Reedham, that is 2 of the swing bridges done in one trip.

Along the Yare to Brundall. Change here for the Yarmouth line to Acle, 20 mins to look at all the Broom boats.

Depart Lowestoft 11.50
Depart Oulton Broad North 11.54
Arrive Brundall 12.24
Depart Brundall 12.46
Arrive Acle 12.56

All this for £7.

'kent whack it wi a big stick!!

thank you. will phone Rupert so can give all the info. the train journey is great. We did Lowestoft to Norwich just so we could go over the swingbridges. I just want to give him all the options.

Thank you again. Smile
