I was alerted in the comments of the Captain's Blog - Brinks Omega Day 4 - of a mysterious fast moving animal seen at How Hill on the River Ant and I had seemingly unwittingly captured on video.

Perhaps it was an Ostrich, the the commenter suggested.

I then looked at the clip - and thought it did look like something had run at a fair speed in the Reeds and marsh at How Hill where 'the gardens' come down to the moorings.

Now you can have a look and discover what this actually is.

The camera never lies but can sometimes trick you. Have to admit slightly disappointed. Looking forward to your next blog. No pressure though. Thanks for what you do.

Happy boating, Keith & Di.

Oh well done Bonny Lad you have just committed an offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 by illegally and intentionally  disturbing the breeding patterns of protected amphibians !!.

Yes, that was in fact dear old Norm Junior quietly going about his business. Whilst camouflaged as a reed frond in a desperate attempt to cop off with a passing Coypu some buffoon interrupted the precoital excitation stage of the unholy coupling with the stout rodent by shoving a video camera up poor Norms flute nose!!

Needless to say my beloved pet will be tadpoleless again for the entire season. Hope you are proud of yourself!! Shame on you!!

I,m a Posh Boy now I own a swanky Gin Palace!

If your sort pass me on the river you have my permission to “parp” in my general direction !!.

We can't wait to watch your adventures on the broads. We feel like we are there with you. We never laughed so much as when watching you open the can of sausages. Great stuff. We wish you a good time.

Happy boating, Keith & Di.
