Hi All.

Coming to pick up our new boat on Wednesday, so we are going to take a cold cruise for a few days!

However, as I have always visit the Broads at the height of the season, I am wondering what pubs and facilities will be open in February.

We are going from Brundall, so intend to stay Reedham, Norwich area, so does anyone know if there are many of the pubs in the area open and also what other facilities we will find to be shut or on very reduced hours?

Best wishes,

James.

Hi James, we were up last week. Not many pubs seem to be open all day.Only ones we saw open mid-afternoon was the Woods End at Bramerton and the Rushcutters at Thorpe. We also visited Coldham Hall and Reedham Ferry Inn, both of which opened at around 6/6.30 for  the evening session. The Lord Nelson at Reedham was closed (some sort of brewery politics going on, we heard). The Beauchamp Arms had a sign up saying "closed until further notice". Not sure about the Cantley pubs.Surlingham Ferry looked like it has just had a makeover but not sure of opening times, if any. We just rang the day before to find out the opening times of the places we wanted to visit. One thing is for sure though, you won't have to queue at the bar. On most of our visits we only came across a half a dozen other customers all night!

Cheers,Gordon

Just to add to the last post, the only other facility we used was water at Reedham Quay.No water at Norwich, even though sign said there should be.Couldn't see any water at Thorpe.Looked like there was some at Brundall.

Cheers,Gordon

Well the Beauchamp Arms is shut Surlingham Ferry house and the others all open as said not many are open all day because the amount of trade would not cover the wages bill. New Inn at Rockland St mary's does good lunches as does the White horse in Chedgrave. The Reedcutters at Cantley only does full blown resturant meals no bar snacks on Sundays.
